Taraxacum chandelier by Achille Castiglioni for Flos, Italy 1960s
Taraxacum design suspension lamp chandelier by Achille Castiglioni for Flos, 1960s Italian space age era. Taraxacum is a suspension lamp with direct and reflected light, with large dimensions. Achille Castiglioni's project is inspired by the dandelion flower, the dense globe of transparent stamens, loosely joined to the nucleus, ready to fly away at the first breath of wind. Designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos in 1960, Taraxacum was an absolutely original revolutionary chandelier. The lamp is composed of a structure of polished aluminum triangles, entirely covered with transparent bulbs, which provide abundant light which is also reflected on the structure, amplifying its brightness. Suspended lighting fixture with direct and reflected light with 60 clear Globolux bulbs around the structure. Ceiling connection and steel rosette. Good state of preservation.
