Rare Art Nouveau vase by Moritz Hacker and Johann Loetz Witwe in Bohemian glass, early 1900s
Important museum display vase from the full Art Nouveau period. Large vase with handle in Bohemian glass with relief and chiselled silver metal decoration in Art Nouveau style. The glass has a very particular "Papillon" decoration: a transparent green glass with yellow-silver inclusions and iridescence. This important vase is the result of the collaboration between Moritz Hacker (Budapest 1849-1932), court jeweler, and Johann Loetz Witwe, an important artistic glass producer from Klostermühle, in Bohemia, Austria-Hungary. The works of Johann Loetz are among the most important examples of Art Nouveau. The vase features the Moritz Hacker mark under the base. The vase we propose is of unique refinement in its artistic execution and in perfect condition.
