Important copy of the famous Portrait of Francesco Maria II della Rovere, Duke of Urbino, painted by Federico Barocci in 1572 and now preserved in the Uffizi in Florence. An oil on canvas that portrays the duke in his burnished armor topped by the ducal sash, the gorget worn around his neck according to Spanish fashion, his bearded and proud face, surrounded by a dark background. A canvas enclosed within a valuable golden carved wooden frame that recalls the motifs of the time. Painting signed by the author lower left.
