Paolo Buffa style sideboard, Italy 1940s

Large low buffet sideboard attributed to Paolo Buffa in walnut and maple wood. The sideboard is made up of 4 parts: the two central parts are closed by rectangular doors in maple wood 94 cm wide and are complete with an internal shelf; the two side parts have a rounded shape with doors finished in carved walnut wood. The handles are made of brass. Upper top finished with black back-lacquered glass with a thickness of 9 cm. The piece of furniture has been cleaned, waxed and repainted, it shows signs of use that require restoration work. The style can be traced back to that of the designer Paolo Buffa, but it has no signatures: in fact the designer did not usually sign his furniture. It is therefore not possible to attribute the sideboard with certainty.
