Pair of Melchiorre Bega chairs in green skai leather, 1950s
Pair of dining chairs designed by Melchiorre Bega from the 1950s, Papillon model, the name is inspired by the butterfly motif on the backrest. Made in Italy circa 1950s-60s, the structure is in soft chestnut or pear wood, the seat is in green skai, height 48 cm.
The chairs were worm-eaten in several places, they were subjected to a professional anti-worm treatment which eliminated all the parasites but retained the signs, in particular on some of the feet, as shown in the photo. Stability and robustness are not compromised by defects. The seat is in original skai in excellent condition.
