Pair of Deco vases by Napoleone Martinuzzi for Venini in Murano glass
Pair of wonderful Decò 707.10 model vases made by Venini. The Deco' model made its entrance onto the scene in the 1930s, a period in which throughout Europe there was interest in an opulent style made up of new shapes and colours. Designed by Napoleone Martinuzzi sculptor and designer, trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. These vases are in blown opaline glass with a central core in milky glass to which another glass is superimposed internally and externally. The vases have 2 rarities: the discontinued color and an error in the signature. In fact the vases are both signed and dated at the base "Venini 95 Carlo Scarpa", therefore there is an error by the designer. Even in the catalogs of the time the model was erroneously attributed to Carlo Scarpa!
