This type of black marble is very rare, called Portoro marble, or Portovenere, it is a fine variety of Italian marble coming from the suggestive Golfo dei Poeti, in the Ligurian province of La Spezia, and is one of the most beautiful among the polychrome marbles. Characterized by an intense and brilliant black color with golden veins ranging from pure yellow to honey colour.
