Painting by E. Corsi - the arrest of Aman and his sentence, early 1900s
Painting in grass juice on fabric depicting the episode of the Old Testament (Esther7) in which Aman, during a banquet, is denounced by Queen Esther and sentenced to death. The whole frame is painted with elaborate floral and vegetal motifs; at the top, in a central position, the title of the artwork, "L’ARRESTO DI AMAN E SVA CONDANNA" (The arrest of Aman and his condemn); below, always in a central position, the Latin text “ETIAM REGINAM VVLT OPPRIMERE” (also wants to do violence to the queen).
The painting is signed E. Corsi in the lower left corner.
