MR10 cantilever chairs by Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe, 1980s

Set of 4 MR10 dining chairs designed by Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe and produced by Alivar or Phasem, Italy in the 1980s. The "MR10" is one of the most iconic designer chairs of all time, first presented in 1927 at the Die Wohung exhibition in Stuttgart. People were amazed for two reasons: the tubular steel, and the weight all supported by the front legs. Especially the "MR10" chairs together with "MR20" make up the Weissenhof chair set, designed by Mies Van Der Rohe and the Russian architect Sergius Ruegenberg. The steel finish contrasts with the leather seat and backrest, creating an exquisitely aerodynamic appearance. The chairs are in excellent condition, they are sturdy and comfortable. Extraordinary patina. The chrome surface has been polished and the leather cleaned and nourished with professional products.
