Painting by E. Ferrante depicting the port of Messina, it is inspired by the great masters of the Posillipo School, including Anton Sminck van Pitloo and Giacinto Gigante, who used the Navy as a subject to portray an idyllic landscape. In the painting we admire a marine view of Messina with a large tower placed in the south-east corner of the fortress, entirely surrounded by the sea, a classical and Mediterranean sunshine that breathes from the history and nature of the Italian landscape.
