Railroad carbide lamp from the 30s - 40s. The railwaymen used it to report. Produced in iron and copper. Red and white color. Carbide is a white substance that when crumbled and burned creates a chemical reaction that can create light for several hours. The railway worker, based on the report to be made, could choose the red or white light.
