Jieldé Standard industrial lamp with 4 articulated arms, 1950s
Jieldé Standard model floor lamp by Jean-Louis Domecq composed of 4 articulated arms and adjustable lampshade. Made entirely of metal, with branding on the lampshade. Coming from France in the 1950s.
Dimensions: height 130cm, diameter 25cm.
At the end of the 1940s Jean-louis Domecq, tired of not finding a lamp suitable for his general mechanical activity, began to design an ad hoc prototype. After some trial and error, he found the final design in April 1950. The lamp perfectly suited the characteristics he was looking for: simple, robust and articulated, so as to adapt to all workstations. With this great invention, from 1951 to 1952, it was possible to industrialize the production. In 1953, he created a company dedicated to the marketing of his lamp which takes its name from the initials of its creator: Ji eL Dé.
