Ivan Karas (Saranchuky, 1969) attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Lviv (L'Viv) and later specialized in the restoration and creation of icons and frescoes on sacred themes, especially in the churches of Lviv, Ternopoli and Berezane. In 1993 he began an important collaboration with the Vatican which led him, and still leads him, to restore and create the frescoes of various churches in the Roman territory.
