Beautiful landscape with sailboats signed by the Italian artist Giulio Sommati (1858-1945), of excellent artistic quality, complete with wooden frame. Giulio Sommati di Mombello, a Turin artist from a noble family, was artistically trained at the Accademia Albertina in Turin, the city where he lived and worked, exhibiting in all Italian cities. He painted genre scenes, portraits, urban views (in particular its Turin markets), landscapes and, from the first decade of the twentieth century, also numerous marinas, following his discovery and falling in love with the Ligurian Riviera. He had among his admirers the King (from whom he obtained the nomination as Knight of the Kingdom) Queen Margherita, Elizabeth of Saxony Duchess of Genoa.
