Space Age Elpis pendant light chandelier by Harvey Guzzini for iGuzzini, Italian mid-century modern design from the 1970s. Designed in the 1970s by the renowned Italian brand iGuzzini, the "Elpis" pendant lamp embodies the futuristic aesthetic of the Space Age era. This exquisite piece features a conical mushroom-shaped lampshade in gradient white acrylic, complemented by a round white acrylic diffuser and an elegant chrome ring. The lamp is equipped with an E27 Bakelite socket, which allows the use of any standard light bulb. Created by iGuzzini's internal design team (Internal Technical Office), the pendant lamp bears the "iGuzzini" label, which guarantees its production between 1974 and 1982, before the company changed the brand to "iGuzzini lighting".
The name "Elpis" draws inspiration from Greek mythology, where Elpis represents female personification and the spirit of hope, adding a symbolic layer to its timeless design.
With an adjustable overall height of 70cm and a diameter of 49cm, with a shade height of 32cm, this pendant offers both a striking visual presence and practical versatility. Possibility to adjust the length of the cable as needed.
The item has been rewired and the lampshade polished. No damage or cracks, just signs of oxidation on the chrome ring. Good condition and perfectly functional.
