Doge table by Carlo Scarpa for Simon in glass and steel

Doge table designed by Carlo Scarpa for Simon with steel structure and glass top, Italy 70s. The Doge table was born as a variant of a table that Carlo Scarpa had designed for the Zentner house in Zurich, where the ebony top is replaced by a thick glass top. This substitution allows pursuing the "ultra-rational" intent by showing the structure, the graft and the assembly with visible screws, creating a strong architectural impact and a sort of beauty in the functional expression. The table is original in all its parts and in excellent condition.
