Chaise longue Le Surrepos du Docteur Pascaud, 1920s
Le Surrepos du Docteur Pascaud recliner armchair chaise longue, France, 1920s, in natural beech and iron, padded and upholstered in fabric, with wooden wheel for adjusting the backrest and seat. This mechanical chaise longue was an inspiration for Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand when they worked on their idea of creating an infinitely adjustable chaise longue, which eventually resulted in their famous Chaise longue tilting, made of tubular steel.
