Antique sculpture with Napoleon on horseback in Capodimonte porcelain
Capodimonte porcelain sculpture depicting Napoleon Bonaparte on horseback, in the classic pose. Napoleon is depicted in the saddle while confidently holding the nervous and fearful rearing animal. The leader also wears a parade uniform and carries a large cloak that rises in the wind to the left. Napoleon's face is firm, serene and assertive while the horse's expression is scared, tense. The result of this choice is the report of a leader with a strong and decisive character who manages to tame the natural fury and hold back its tension. Condition: Hand missing. Provenance: Naples late 19th century.
