Description


Antique statuary white marble sculpture depicting a bust of Marie Antoinette (1755-1793), the Austrian archduchess who would become the wife of King Louis XVI and the last queen of France. His face is turned slightly to the right. Her headdress made of curls and ringlets is embellished with the presence of a rose. Her shoulders are covered with a fabric, tied naturally on the chest, and leaving a lace lower part slightly visible. On the right side of the dress there is a beautiful hanging tassel. The care and precision of the details, the finesse of the face and clothes are of the highest quality. Provenance: France, late 18th century. Conditions: Excellent state of conservation.
