Description


Antique burnished bronze sculpture depicting the head of the philosopher Seneca. This head of the Greek philosopher Seneca is also called Pseudo-Seneca as it was discovered in Herculaneum in 1754 and found in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. The original, located in the 1st century BC, is the basis of inspiration for numerous sculptors and artists who reproduce its features in bronze castings. Provenance: Naples 20th century.
