Antique baroque oval cartouche mirror in carved and gilded wood, 18th century

Important, beautiful and elegant oval wall mirror from the 18th century Baroque period, made entirely of finely carved and gilded wood with gold leaf. The rich carving decoration with volutes and acanthus leaves that curl up on the front is called cartoccio. The mirror is ancient coeval with mercury and therefore has defects that do not allow a good reflection of the image. Nice patina of the gilding. In good general antique condition, there are natural signs of the passage of time. Price negotiable.
